Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Support Team

Applicant must be Law Enforcement Certified. Must be capable of fulfilling all functions listed throughout the Law Enforcement Deputy job description.

The purpose of the SWAT Support Team is to support SWAT during unusual or highly hazardous situations through the deployment of specialized vehicles and equipment. Support members are selected from certified SJSO law enforcement deputies and must meet minimum established criteria. Members will be provided with equipment and necessary training. Following training, each Support member will be required to be proficient in the knowledge of each SWAT Support position, be proficient in the operation of all support equipment, be required to obtain a commercial class “A” driver license, and will be required to maintain all SWAT equipment.
