Description

The Employment Specialist II Candidate will work cohesively with the Human Resources Employment Services Team to guide the process from new application to new hire orientation. Seeking a customer service-oriented team member to handle interactions with external candidates within the hiring process. The ideal team member must possess special attention to detail, maintain confidentiality, the ability to multi-task, be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 software, facilitate presentations, have a creative mindset, and enthusiastic demeanor. Our working environment is constantly changing and remaining fluid and flexible is vitally important to this role.

Primary Concept

The Employment Specialist II assists in guiding an applicant through the various stages of the hiring process. This position will focus on the preservation and integrity of applicant information, clerical / office duties pertaining to the processing and maintenance of employment applications, external communication, and compliance with professional standards.

                    Special Qualification Requirements:

  • Must be D.A.V.I.D. Certified or become certified within 3 months
  • Must be NCIC/FCIC certified or become certified within 3 months
  • Must be LINX Certified or become certified within 3 months

Education and Qualification Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Associate’s Degree or 1-2 years related work experience preferred
  • Type 25 WPM accurately
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Basic knowledge of general office equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Obtain a Notary Seal within 6 months

Duties

  • Utilize computers/applicable software/office equipment/printers/scanners
  • Maintain and update all database system(s)
  • Develop and maintain COC communication
  • Maintain confidential files
  • Perform administrative/clerical functions
  • Ensure agency mission/vision/values are maintained
  • Receive, route, initiate and disperse telephone calls/messages and emails
  • Data entry, create, process correspondence, schedules, appointments, etc.
  • Assist within specified unit as needed
  • Assist employees in researching information as requested
  • Continued training/updates/review of applicable laws and best practices
  • Prep/scan/verify/update documents
  • Maintain SOP’s
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Maintain confidentiality/security of files and information obtained in the course of employment
  • Process/compile/disseminate record/public record information as directed by approving authority in accordance with lawful requirements
  • Provide assistance to employees and other public and private entities in an effort to meet their needs and build positive community relationships/resolve complaints/address conflicts
  • Maintain continuity and operational efficiency by accurate and timely dissemination of information to Staff and co-workers
  • Adhere to leave, overtime, and attendance policies/procedures (i.e., arrive promptly, regular attendance at work, notification to supervisor regarding absence from work due to illness or untimely incidents, etc.)
