Description
Introduction to the Internship Program
St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Internship Program provides an opportunity for college students to experience the inner workings of a full service law enforcement agency, while earning credits towards graduation. Further, the program seeks to enhance the knowledge of Criminal Justice students and those whose career path may support the Law Enforcement Community. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office recognizes the value of a strong internship program. Qualified interns will work alongside Sheriff’s Office personnel in the various areas including, but not limited to the Patrol, Investigations, Special Operations, Corrections, and several support functions of the office, such as media relations, publications, and the like. Each Intern will interview with the Intern Coordinator to determine their qualifications and capabilities. The applicant will be asked of what their future goals are and what they hope to accomplish. The organization of the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office will be explained and special emphasis will be placed on the confidentiality of information and what may be experienced during their time with SJSO staff. Scheduling of duties should remain flexible and will be coordinated between the intern, the coordinator and the assigned section. The Intern will be informed as to the standards of conduct expected and Intern Coordinator may take disciplinary action, including separation, in the event of an infraction.
This position closes June 14, 2025.
