Primary Purpose
The PAL Specialist is responsible for assisting the PAL Management/Supervisory Staff with focus in financial clerical/office duties to include QuickBooks application, with an understanding of financial terminology in relation to insurance policies, special events and development of PAL programs, recreation, and social activities. This position may require logistics, to include, transportation, scheduling and maintenance records, and loading/unloading equipment. Maintaining confidential youth records.
Education and Qualification Requirements
- Minimum: Associate's Degree in Finance or Business-related background or 3 years previous work experience in Finance or Business related fields
- Type 25 WPM accurately
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365, Excel, and Outlook
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of online QuickBooks application
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of financial terminology for insurance related documents
Duties
- Assist parents and juveniles with application forms both online and in person for various youth programs
- Act as liaison with community leaders
- Receive, route and disperse telephone calls/messages
- Complete and submit daily/weekly/monthly/annual reports
- Plan daily PAL recreational/educational activities
- Coordinate event requirements
- Implement structured PAL youth summer programs/clinics
- Support PAL youth activities/events
- Document and submit youth participant attendance forms
- Coordinate online and site registrations
- Disseminate PAL literature/information
- Refer youth participants to other programs
- Assist with PAL related grants
- Display knowledge of rules and regulations regarding sports/after school activities
- Provide referrals to various social services agencies regarding juveniles
- Assist with tutoring/homework programs and other your
- Provide counseling for youth in the PAL program
- Transport youth, load and unload equipment
- Maintain inventory of uniforms and equipment
- Ensure office is opened and secured
- Participate in Agency sponsored youth programs
- Operate audio/visual equipment
- Maintain PAL website and social media
- Complete financial documentation including but not limited to deposits/checks, accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly reconciliation and petty cash recording
- Perform concession stand duties
- Maintain PAL data and records in accordance with appropriate retention regulations

- Maintain continuity and operational efficiency by accurate and timely dissemination of information to Staff and co-workers
- Adhere to leave, overtime and attendance policies/procedures (i.e. arrive promptly, regular attendance at work, notification to supervisor regarding absence from work due to illness or untimely incidents, etc.)

Physical Environment
- Work is in an office environment and in the field transporting youth and during various PAL activities with hands-on or personal close contact with the public including the youth and where exposure to outdoor elements, noisy environments, and/or hazardous conditions and pathogens is foreseeable
- Normal business hours (8AM – 5PM) apply; however, weekend work is required and hours are subject to vary and overtime may be necessary including nights, holidays, and weekends
